    2. The Anthony Weekly Bulletin Harper County Friday November 12, 1897 Harper County Schools. From County Supt. HEACOCK's annual school report, covering the period from June 1896 to June 1897, we glean the following statistics that may interest our readers: Number of school children in county, 3448, all of them white except 2. Number of teachers employed in county, 96; the males teachers being paid an average of $40 per month and the females $33.50 per month. There are 87 school buildings in Harper county, estimated to be worth $74,100 and only one of them was built during the year. One other school house has been built since June 30. The bonded indebtedness of these buildings is $73,688. There are 88 school districts in the county, four of which had no school and two were disorganized.
