Harvest has begun abotu six miles east of this place and it will not be long before it will be here in full blast in this township. Samuel JONES, our genial coal dealer, arrived home from Washington, Kansas, Tuesday, looking well and says he enjoyed his trip and visit very much. The thresher men are beginning to get their machines in order to be ready for business in threshing out the immense crop of wheat in the county. A. W. GLEASON is having the old Eureka hotel remodeled and will occupy it soon, when he will accomodate the traveling public. We wish him success. E.J. BICKFORD, brother of W.D., arrived from Branch county, Michigan, Sunday morning. He expects to stay and try his hand at farming; he was here 19 years ago but says he did not expect to see so great a change in the country.
