The Anthony Weekly Bulletin Harper County Friday March 3, 1899 According to Superintentdent NELSON's appointment table as printed in the Topeka Journal, Harper county is credited with 3,331 pupils of school age in the county. Miss Lillian RICE left Monday of this week for Oklahoma City where she will visit relatives prior to going to her new home at Weatherford, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Alva MUSTAIN are the proud parents of a 10-pound boy which put in his appearance Monday of this week. March came in no too frisky and yet not very quiet, and as a result we suppose it will go out in a like manner. Salt! Salt! 100 barrels of No. 1 Salt at J.F. TUTTLE's at 90 cents per barrel. Superintendent CARSON of the poor farm was in the city Thursday transacting business. He reports everything at the farm in good condition. Jas. L. HAMMERS was an Anthony visitor Wednesday of this week. Mr. Hammers and his family are at the home of his father, W.O. Hammers, called there by the serious illness of Grandma BAYNE. Jimmie Hammers is one of the well-to-do farmers of Grant county and is active as a worker for the good of the county. Mr. and Mrs. PURSEY of Argonia are the happy parents of twins, born the first of this week. Mrs. Pursey will be remembered at Miss Ruby BUCKLES who left Haper some years ago to teach in the Indian shools.(Harper)
