    3. The Anthony Weekly Bulletin Harper County Friday September 9, 1898 Anthony City Primary. The Populists met at the court house Saturday evening at 8 o'clock pursuant to call, and meeting was opened by Committman TITUS, who announced purpose of meeting. A chairman and secretary were selected and upon motion the primary was resloved into ward primaries for the purpose of selecting ward delegates, and upon re-assembling the following were named: First Ward, B. SLOOP, Willis PEARCE and A.J. TITUS; Second Ward, Ed STEEN and S.P. BLEDSOE; Third Ward, R.E. PANTIER and M. D. LEE; Fourth ward, William BAYNE, Otis LAW and T.H.W. McDOWELL. The primary qualified the ward delegates and then selected J.B. RANDELS as delegate at large. Each delegate was empowered to select him one alternate.
