The Anthony Weekly Bulletin Harper County Friday November 19, 1897 Speaking about an old timer, we can't help recalling that blossoming boozer and printer that never plied his profession, Charlie PHILABAUM. He always wore a straw hat of the vintage of ' 76, and carried a set of brains under it that would be a credit to some of the Anthony prints of the present day. But poor PHILABAUM has gone far away from Anthony; in fact, wnet to the bad place. At any rate, he's dead.

The Anthony Weekly Bulletin Harper County Friday November 5, 1897 Crisfield. Wheat fields are green and the plant is in good shape. The acreage is increased here over the last year. Mr. C.H. EASTMAN expects to move to Cowley county in the near future. He has a ranch there. Harper county will lose a large stockman. It does seem that some of the Strip people have sticky hands. The roads are lined with covered wagons going north and the usual amount of thieving has commenced, fodder and grain being the chief articles stolen, and also the unlawful shooting of quails by them. Our farmers have determined to prosecute those who shoot quail along our roads. We are told that some persons have had their harness stolen by some of these thieves. I.B. SIMMONS of near Attica had a force of men and teams one day last week trying to move a large corn crib and granary back on its foundation. This building is two and one half miles west of here on a farm near the residence of M.W. SHORT. It was blown from is foundation ond night last June and landed in the road a few feet from Mr. SHORT's residence. The building is forty feet long, twelve feet wide and ten feet high. Mr. SIMMONS was not able to move it back, and it will have to be moved in sections.
