Hello ~ I am new to the list and would like to put my names here, hoping for a connection. William HEUSTON/HOUSTON, wife Almira (Hatch) Barber and their sons, Ebenezer, Theodore J.P. and Jerome DeWitt were living in Pleasant Grove on the 1870 census. After that date, I find William receiving payment as a "road viewer", some homestead claims for Ebenezer and Eb's marriage (in Wilson County) to Lavica Caroline CRAIG, but not much else for the entire family. Oh, in 1878, William's property was sold at Sheriff's sale, so we're assuming he may have died about that time. Almira also had a son, named ? Hartselle BARBER, who was apparently b. OH who was in the general area til 1877 when he died while in TX. His wife, Susanna/Anna ? returned from TX to KS "to her family" with their children, Elton Alfred and Hattie May BARBER.
