Surnames: Fish, Brown Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Bm.2ADE/53.2.1.1 Message Board Post: My greatgrandfather was Henry Fish, b. 1844 in Oneida, NY, who moved to Carpinteria in Santa Barbara county, California, about 1870 and lived there for the rest of his life. He married Juliette Walker, who crossed the plains in her father's wagon train at 16, and they had six kids. Only two of them had children: my grandfather begat my father, who begat me; but grandpa's sister Frances married a cattleman named Will Brown of Fall River, Kansas, and after her parents had gone to all the trouble of moving clear across the US, she moved halfway back and had nine children in Kansas: Robert William, Lawrence Edwin, Henry MacLoren, Margaret Louise, Thomas Franklin, Francis Richard, Charles Warren, Ralph Murray, and Donald Albert. Nary a Sam in the lot, but I don't know anything about Will Brown's siblings or ancestors. The descendants are a nice bunch of people.
