BEACH Ira W. Beach, a retired farmer, died Thursday morning, December 25, 1941 at the Heritage in Emporia, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Lena Valley church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ray Saferite. A quartet composed of Mesdames Joe Blank, and Ray Saferite and Messrs. Chas. Crotchett and Merl Hester with Mrs. J. O. Wilson, as accompanist sang “Beautiful Isle of somewhere”, Rock of Ages,” and “Just When I need Thee Most,” Burial was in the Lena Valley cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. R. O. Gardner, Harry, Williams, Harry Tatman, _____Ott, Roy Smith, and Har—Horton. Ira W. Beach, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. L. D. Beach, was born March 6, 1885 in Greenwood county, Kansas. He was married to Flora Bentley who died in March 1920. Mr. Beach was a farmer by occupation until his health failed. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Horton, Madison and Mrs. Larcy Gardner, Hartford and three brothers, A. O. Beach, Topeka, Rufus Beach, Madison, and Reuben Beach Eureka.
