She details the name Gradan was taken from the two county names: GRAham and SheriDAN. The community was located in Allodium township, south and west of Goshen. It had a post office, school, store, church and garage (probably more, those are the items detailed on the map). Community news for all of the county's northwest corner (Allodium, Indiana, and Gettysburg townships) as well as some news from Sheridan County taken from newspapers covering the years 1875-1946 comprises the majority of the book. An abundance of photographs makes the 300+ page book attractive while the people index assists readers in finding news of interest to them. The Graham County Public Library has copies of the book available for sale for $20. I received one for Christmas and find it fascinating. A round of applause to Mrs. McCalister for her work.
