Looking for information on Eli Robinson (d)3-19-1880 in western,KS.
I am looking for info on Elmer Moore and his wife Etta in the 1910 and 1920 Garden city, Finney county, Kansas census. Can anyone help me. Thanks. Helen Sheldon gnhshel@aol.com
Finney Rooters! From a September, 1999 obituary (for his wife), we have learned that Herbert EPP married Evelyn M. Burkhart at Hanston, KS on 31 December 1949. The ceremony was probably a Roman Catholic event. We would like to learn more of Herbert's ancestry. Anyone who can assist us re Hanston church records is asked to acknowledge this query. Please respond privately at <rdepp@crosslink.com> TIA! Bob Epp in VA
John -- I have tried to find this, but have been unsuccessful so far. Perhaps the Finney County Historical Society in Garden City can help. There's a link to it from the Home Page. http://www.rootsweb.cm/~ksfinney/ Good luck! Any idea of where a "German" Church is/was in 1912. It was probably located in Deerfield or Garden City or perhaps north of one of these towns. Reference to the church was in 1912. John W. Looking for obituary and/or burial information for: Anna Mary GIESWEIN. Im also looking for the name of the church and the undertaker. (See information below). Im hoping someone in the mailing group can suggest a lookup or organization that could check the church or undertaker records. Anna Mary GIESWEIN was born Nov. 4, 1856 in Germany or Russia She died Oct. 19, 1912 in Garden City or Deerfield, or Lakin, KS Death certificate shows: Place of death: Finney Co., Garden City Township Place of Burial or Removal: "German Church" or "Herman Church" (hard to read). Undertaker: A. R. Clark (?), Garden City, KS The undertakers name might be something completely different than this. Im really guessing its very difficult to read. (I could scan this portion and send to someone if it would help.) The Finney Co. Historical Soc. found this. A one sentence notice in the Oct. 25, 1912, Garden City Telegram "Mrs. Gieswein whose husband has charge of the King ranch up north died Monday." Any idea of where the "King ranch" might have been? One family letter insinuated she was buried on a ranch in Deerfield, KS while a different family record shows place of death as Lakin, KS. John W.
