Would anyone on this list be willing to look up a marriage? It would have taken place about 1895 or 1896 between a Hemphill and a Baines. Thanks
Hi: "Wm. Hall" is the person who's place the marriage took place. He was probably a friend or relative of the bride or groom.
Would anyone be willing to look up a marriage between a Hemphill and a Baines that took place about 1895/96. Thanks, Sue
Would anyone have a list of School teachers for the Garden City Public Schools for the 1894/95 time period? I'm looking for a Nettie Adair as a School teacher. Thanks - Sue
Hi, Sue: My name is Dawn. I am out here, but can't answer your question. I haven't tried it out myself for a long time. I will have to find the web address again. I am on the mail list though. Just thought I would respond to you so you wouldn't get too frustrated. I don't have time right now to look. Sorry. Bye

Hi: How would I go about finding out about the Garden City Public Schools for 1894/95? I have the name of the 3rd grade teacher, Nettie Adair. Could someone please let me know if a teach by this name ever taught in the Garden City Schools. Thanks, Sue Wood
Lisa Sorry that I dont have any info on Kinney Ct. Kansas. However, Im always looking and will keep on eye open for your Coulsons. Jill
I am looking for information on two Coulson family's that lived in Finney County between 1878 and 1890. William and Jane Coulson with 9 children moved into the area from Nebraska and settled into what was them Buffalo County. An additional child, Walace was born and possibly died there. William was supposedly a Methodist Circuit Rider. I have seen this book mentioned. Centennial Saga of First Methodist Church Garden City, Kansas 1882-92 by Patricia Smith. If anyone has this book could they check for Coulson's. The family is William C. (W.C.) Coulson and wife Effemia with two children. They all arrived at the same time. William C. was sheriff in the county in 1887. I am also hoping that someone has access to Finney County, Kansas, obituary attracts and death notices 1879-1911 by Katherine Powell. I am hoping that Walace's death and possibly Jane's is mentioned there. Coulson's have continued to puzzle me in their ability of avoid most census takers, except for the 1880 Kansas. Thank you for your help Lisa
This may be a shot in the dark but I'm having great difficulty finding ANYTHING on the web about my GG Grandparents listed above. I do have that they moved from Sweden around 1869 to Garden City, Kansas. I don't think Finney County existed then (Arapahoe, Foote, Sequoyah???). PETER WILLIAM JOHNSON was born in 1841 in Sweden. He moved to in Garden City, KS about 1869 and lived there until about 1890 when he moved to Manitou Springs, CO where he died in 1906. Peter and PAULINA MATILDA LARSON (b.1861 in Sweden) married in 1885 which I'm guessing would have been in Garden City, KS. They had 4 children: EDWARD WILLIAM (b. 1887); MARY (b. 1887 twin of Edward); MABEL; and EMIL. My records show that at least two (maybe all 4) were born in Garden City, KS. Does anyone on this list have any information on this family at all? And if not, can you direct me to someone who can do lookups for the area. I can't seem to find them in ANY of the surname searches, census, etc. Thank you very much. Mark Johnson.
The following Kansas counties have obituary search engines at Obituary Central ( http://www.obitcentral.com ) KS, Cowley County http://www.obitcentral.com/obitsearch/counties/ks-cowley.htm KS, Finney County http://www.obitcentral.com/obitsearch/counties/ks-finney.htm These search engines allow keyword searches through all of the online obits at the local online newspapers. Hope these tools help someone find a few surnames. Thanks, Bill & Tina Cribbs Obituary Central http://www.obitcentral.com HELP STOP BREAST CANCER!!!
