The Douglas Co. cemetery records are not available on-line. However, the Douglas Co. Gen. Soc. has published two books (one for Lawrence and one for remaining part of county) that contain most of the burial records. They recorded all tombstones in the county and some other records, but if there was no tombstone and no other tabulated list, some burials are hard to find. They can sometimes be found in death notice in the newspapers if you know death date. If you have a name, I can check the published book. It is indexed, but only by surname, so takes considerable time for look-ups involving common surnames. Birth records were not kept by Kansas until july 1911, so there are no birth certificates available for births before that time. Again, newspapers are about the only other source of information for many of the births. However, they seldom give the child's name, only something like "a son (or daughter) to Mr. & Mrs. Jones last week".
