    3. I'm not a desc. nor any connection to the Parmeter line. However, I live in Baldwin City, KS and familiar with the name. There is a building on the Baker campus named "Parmenter Hall". According to THE HISTORY OF BAKER UNIVERSITY, 1951, it states that the building was built over a 20 year period starting in 1857, and was known as "Old Science Hall". It was renovated and nenamed in March 1939 as "Parmenter Hall". According to cemetery records, Charles Parmenter's 2nd wife Anna is buried here in Oakwood Cem., Baldwin City, KS A plot map also shows an entry for Charles S. Parmenter with date 1923. That does not say he is buried here, but raises the question of why his name would have been entered on the map, if not. You indicate he diec at St. Joseph, Mo. Do you have evidence that he was also buried there? In the book, HISTORY OF BAKER UNIVERSITY, there are 2 1/2 pages devoted to info. about Charles S. Parmenter and his career at Baker U. It states" He was vice-president of the college for twenty-one years, and was professor of biology, botany, geology, physiology, and zoology, from 1883 until his death in 1922. No history of Baker would be complete without mention of his name." ---"For forty years the name of Professor Charles S. Parmenter has appeared in the faculty list of baker University. He served longer as professor than any man in the history of the College." If you are not familiar with the career of Charles, I would be happy to copy the article for you. It also has a photograph of him. Richard Wellman
