I wish there had been a small sign at the gate stating that the tall grass growing in the cemetery was prairie grass. If I had known what it was, I would have gotten out of the car and walked in to see it closer. I have heard and read of prairie grass but didn't have a clue as to what it was! You might pass this suggestion on to the powers that be. I'm pleased to know that it has not been abandoned! I'm going to post the note about "Dobbins" on the Dobbins list. That person you mentioned is not of my line - Dobbinses who came into Douglas County in 1856 from Fulton County, IL. Elizabeth Dobbins' son, James Sellers Dobbins, served in the 11th Kansas Cavalry out of Lawrence.
