Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Zl.2ADI/53.3.1 Message Board Post: Yes, the Prairie City Cemetery is well maintained. The Pioneer cemetery is managed by the same board as the OakWood Cem. in Baldwin. The Pioneer cemetery grounds are of "native prairie grass" so there are two sides to the maintenance effort. One group wants to maintain the prairie grass in the best condition for sustaining it--which means it can't be mowed, until late in the year. The other group would like to keep it mowed short like other cemeteries. It has all been mowed this fall and I've personally done the trimming around the stones, so it is in good condition for the winter, for a cemetery not having any burials for over 80 years. There is also a burial in Pioneer Cem. for the Dobbins surname. It is S. B. Dobbins, Co. I of 4th Wis. Cav. Do you have any records regarding this person?
