    1. [KSDOUGLA-L] Ralph Lindsay Williams and family
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Williams, Bowen, Hume, Smith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zl.2ADI/163 Message Board Post: I am looking for information regarding my 3rd Great Grandfather, Dr. Ralph Lindsay Williams. The info I have came mostly from family sources (Ralph Lindsay Williams' grandchildren), but so far I have found little evidence to back it up. Ralph Lindsay Williams was born 21 Aug 1815/1816 in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY. His parents were Bayliss Williams, (a traveling Methodist minister who was probably born in the mid to late 1700's in Virginia), and Elizabeth Bowen (I have no additional info on her). Ralph Lindsay Williams became a physician. He married Mary "Polly" Hume 16 Sep 1838/1839 in Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IL. They had six children that I am aware of; Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Williams (my G-G-Grandmother); Amelia Williams, Antoinette Williams, Kate Williams, Solon Thacher Williams and Frances Williams. Ralph Lindsay Williams died 19 Dec 1897 in Lawrence, Douglas Co., Kansas. My G-G-Grandmother, Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Williams was born 9 Jan 1853 in Williamsburg, Illinois. She married Charles William Smith 1880 in Lawrence, Douglas Co., Kansas. They had 6 children and she died 6 May 1939 in Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS. If anyone has any info on Ralph Lindsay Williams or his family - especially on Bayliss Williams and his wife Elizabeth Bowen, I would love to hear from you. I have hit a brick wall here. Thanks.

Tombstone book--I'm not sure what it means, but will let you decide if this is your Solon T. Williams Oak Hill cem. section 8 (south) WILLIAMS J. T., 1865-1900 Solon J. HERTZ, 1854-1929 Olive Ackerson, Wife of J. F. WILLIAMS, 1867-1900 ---------------- Have you searched for an obituary for either Ralph or Mary? If there was something written, it is not difficult to find since we know the death dates.
