He was born Dec. 1840 in KY. In 1875 he is listed as living in the Abilene area. He died in 1913 at the Savoy Hotel in Lawrence. KU has a collection of his and daughters (Juno Thompson) negatives. In what they call their "Kansas Collection". In 1902 he was convicted of killing a young man and sent to prison. I do not believe he went back to operating his studio after his release.
