William Cale LAWRENCE -- William F. Cale, 74, Lawrence, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at a Lawrence care facility. Mr. Cale had been a coal miner, farmer, sheep herder, service station attendant and lumberjack. He was disabled several years ago. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was born May 3, 1928, in Clarksville, Pa., to Emery and Margaret Catherine Burch Cale. He moved to Lawrence from Bonner Springs. He married Virginia Davis on Aug. 9, 1953, in Irondale, Ohio. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Margaret Bowmar, LaPort, Ind., and Betty Jean Brogan, Lawrence; two sons, William F. Cale and Thomas R. Cale, both of Lawrence; a brother, Pete Cale, DeSoto; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside inurnment services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence is in charge of arrangements.
