Rick Williams LAWRENCE -- Rick D. Williams, 42, Lawrence, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at a Lawrence hospital. Mr. Williams had been a claims representative for Farmers Insurance Group in Olathe since 1998. He was born Feb. 5, 1961, in Lamar, Mo., to Howard Dean and Rita Kay Buck Williams. He graduated from high school in Lamar in 1979 and earned a degree in urban and regional planning at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield in 1986. He also attended graduate school at The University of Kansas. Mr. Williams was a member of Lawrence Wesleyan Church. He married Carole R. Posten on Dec. 16, 1983, in Lamar. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Emily Williams, Rachel Williams and Ellen Williams, all at home; his father, Howard Williams, Lamar; a brother, Robbie Williams, Lamar; and a sister, Rita Nelson, Lamar. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lawrence Wesleyan Church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Contributions may be made to the Rick Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund for the children's education and sent in care of the mortuary, 1120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, 66044-3402.
