None were in our index of newspapers for that period. The papers then were Kansas Daily Republican and Republican Daily Journal. Microfilm copies are in the library and can also be borrowed from the Kansas State Historical Society in Topeka. Maple grove Cemetery was in use then but no Carmichael listed. The sexton at Oak Hill and Maple Grove has an email address. Mitch Young at MLyoung@ci.lawrence.ks.us. He might have a record.
