    3. Found two items in the Lawrence newspaper, though neither were under obituaries. Had about given up hope of finding anything, particularly the amount of time after death for it to be in the paper. Richard -------------------------------------- From Lawrence Journal-World of Feb. 15, 1924, page 1-A (2nd section) under Baldwin News The funeral services of Mrs. Fred Johanning will be held on Friday at the German Lutheran church near Worden, after which interment will be made in the Lutheran cemetery. From Lawrence Journal-World of Sat. Feb. 23, 1924, page 6, col. 4. under "Worden News" Mrs. C. F. Johanning passed away Wednesday evening about four-thirty after an illness of four months at her home. Everything that loving hands could do for her was done. All of their children were at her bedside but two daughters, Willie Reed and wife, and daughter Marguerite of Argentine, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Blair and daughter of Topeka, Louie Reed of Nebraska, Henry Johanning and Katie Konake of Paola, Mr. and Mrs. Schlagle of Eudora, Mr. and Mrs. Damm and daughter, Katie of Stull and other relatives and friends.
