    3. In response to your query-- Checked the Douglas Co. marriage records for "Johntz" and found no entries. Same with the burial records. However, got to thinking how it might sound, and if so, how it might be written. With that thought, I checked for "Johns" and found a few items that remotely might fit with your family line. Burial of John Johns, b. 13 Aug. 1843, d. 18 Aug. 1877, bur. Oak Hill Cem., Section 1, in Lawrence. Burial of William Henry Johns, b. 8 Dec. 1879, d. 14 Sep. 1965 and wife Emma May (Nadelhoffer) Johns, b. 21 Oct. 1881, d. 10 Apr. 1950 Marriage of John Johns to Mary E. Martin on 13 Jan. 1876. There was also a marriage for "Henney (or Henry) Johns to Jennie Jones on 29 May 1875. I know it is a long shot, but nothing otherwise to report on surname of Johntz. 3. I'm not related to the Heinrich family, but live in Douglas Co., so thought I might be able to help find information. Checked the Baldwin Ledger for an obit for Carl August Heinrich, but could not find one near his death date. There are only 4 persons listed in Douglas Co. Cem. records of Heinrich surname: Carl A. Heinrich, b. 5 Mar. 1889, d. 22 May 1946, bur. Vinland Cem. Alma F. (Hoskinson) Heinrich, b. 3 Jan. 1902, d. 27 OCT. 1954. Louis W. Heinrich, b. 17 Aug. 1921, d. 25 Dec. 1983 R. Mabel Heinrich, b. 22 May 1920, d.--- blank--- From Hoskinson family records lists their 5 children of Carl & Alma-- Juanita Marie, b. 28 June 1920, m. ___ Hubbard on 10 Feb. 1940 Louis William , b. 17 Aug. 1921 d. 25 Dec. 1983 Margarel Carlisle, b. 20 Mar. 1923, m. Ernest Williams Helen Louise, b. 23 Nov. 1924, m. 2nd, Cecil Miller, d. Nov. 1978 Harold Herve, b. 4 June 1931, m. Marlene Underwood on 3 Jun. 1952 There was an obit for Louis W. Heinrich which lists his survivors, but nothing about ancestry. It does list a brother Harold of Phoenix, AZ and two sisters: Mrs. Juanita Hubbard of Lawrence, KS and Margaret Walbridge of Baldwin plus wife, two dau. and a son.. I understand that Margaret Walbridge is a resident of the nursing home here in Baldwin and has mental capabilities that might know something about her father's ancestry if we questioned her. In a scrapbook of Vindland items, I found a page on Lewis and sister Juanita Heinrich. It states he is the son of Carl & Alma Heinrich and grandchild of W. H. and Jennie Hoskinson. It then lists some of the honors that Lewis and sister Juanita received. However, I did not find anything connecting this family to Rudolph Heinrich of Eudora. There may have an obit in Lawrence newspaper for Carl that might give some info. 3. Hello List Members, I am interested in contact with any descendants of Rev. (Alfred) Wiley JonesB:14 December, 1804 Va.-D:15 December, 1877 Baldwin City, Douglas County, Kansas, (a son of James Jones and wife Nancy (?) ) and wife Abigail Butram B: 28 September, 1807 Wayne Co., Ky.-D:13 April, 1866 Prairie City, Ks.. Rev. Jones was born in Va. and moved with his parents and siblings when only 2 or 3 years old to Wayne County, Kentucky. They lived in the area known as Beaver Creek. His siblings were Abner, John, Sina, Elizabeth, Milly (Melinda), Thomas, Wilson, Mary, and Nancy. He married Abigail Butram, a daughter of Cornelius Buttram and wife Nancy Woodard, in Wayne Co., Ky. 07 Oct. 1823. They were among a large group of friends and relatives who left Wayne Co., Ky. by wagontrain in 1830, and settled in Hensley Twp., in Johnson Co., Indiana. He continued to be a Justice of the Peace and Circuit Rider preacher for the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1848, the family again moved to Harrisonville, Cass Co., Missouri, where Rev. Wiley Jones continued his religious activites, and those of a Justice of the Peace. When Kansas was still a Territory, the family moved to the Prairie City/Baldwin City, Douglas County, Kansas area. Members of the family donated land for the building upon the land of where the Baker University stands, and helped build it with stones. Wiley and Abigail had 10 children-7 sons, and 3 daughters. Five of their sons served with the Union Cavalry during the Civil War. Three paid the supreme sacrifice, and gave their lives as a result of being wounded on battlefields. The names of their 10 children were:Nancy Jones Balay, **James Cornelius Jones, **John Nelson Jones, Abner Lafayette Jones, Jacob P. Jones, **Wilson Lee Jones, *William Thomas Jones, *Alfred Wiley Jones, Elizabeth Jones Pleasents, Sina Jones 1/Williams,2/Coberly. a single * indicates services during the Civil War. A ** indicates death as a result of wounds incurred on the battlefield(s). Rev. Wiley Jones and wife Abigail Butram are buried in Pioneer Cemetery, located on the outskirts of Baldwin City, in Douglas County, Kansas. I would be most happy to connect with descendants of the above families, and very willing to share information. INNES of Lawrence, who was abroad at the time of her demise, arrived in Lawrence last Thursday and the funeral took place Friday afternoon from the family residence. Many friends were present at the last sad services and there were the most beautiful flowers tendered to any one in years. Mrs. INNES was one of the most dearly loved women who ever lived in Lawrence. She was one of the most rare women who was liked by every one, and was always sweet and gentle to all with whome she came in contact. Her death causes a great and keen loss. The body was taken to Oak Hill cemetery and placed in the vault until the weather will permit interment in the family lot.

    3. I'm not a desc. nor any connection to the Parmeter line. However, I live in Baldwin City, KS and familiar with the name. There is a building on the Baker campus named "Parmenter Hall". According to THE HISTORY OF BAKER UNIVERSITY, 1951, it states that the building was built over a 20 year period starting in 1857, and was known as "Old Science Hall". It was renovated and nenamed in March 1939 as "Parmenter Hall". According to cemetery records, Charles Parmenter's 2nd wife Anna is buried here in Oakwood Cem., Baldwin City, KS A plot map also shows an entry for Charles S. Parmenter with date 1923. That does not say he is buried here, but raises the question of why his name would have been entered on the map, if not. You indicate he diec at St. Joseph, Mo. Do you have evidence that he was also buried there? In the book, HISTORY OF BAKER UNIVERSITY, there are 2 1/2 pages devoted to info. about Charles S. Parmenter and his career at Baker U. It states" He was vice-president of the college for twenty-one years, and was professor of biology, botany, geology, physiology, and zoology, from 1883 until his death in 1922. No history of Baker would be complete without mention of his name." ---"For forty years the name of Professor Charles S. Parmenter has appeared in the faculty list of baker University. He served longer as professor than any man in the history of the College." If you are not familiar with the career of Charles, I would be happy to copy the article for you. It also has a photograph of him. Richard Wellman

    3. Have found some records that may be connected to your family. Believe I have found the marriage record of your Minnie A. Fulton of Dg. Co. KS., married on 10 Sep. 1878 in Douglas Co. to John S. Bruce of Winfield, KS. There are three marriages of persons with ORME surname: Nancy J. Orme, m. James Reed, 8 May 1872 Elizabeth S. Orme, m. William N. Hall, 18 Sep. 1873 Cassie E. Orme, m. James W. Anderson of Edwardsville, KS on 24 Dec. 1883. From Lawrence Newspapers Index of 1873-1881 we find: Mrs. Eliz. Orme mentioned in Republican Daily Journal of 19 Sept. 1873, page 2 Sidney Orme mentioned in Lawrence Daily Journal of 20 June 1880, page 4. Found no burials recorded for Orme in Dg. Co. There was one Fulton--Tom Fulton, 1872-1959, bur. Oak Hill Cem. in Lawrence. Burials of Ellison-- W. B. Ellison 13 Sep. 1861-26 Feb. 1891 Alonzo Ellison and Nina L. Ellison buried in Oak Hill Cem. section 2, at Lawrence. However, no dates on tombstones. In Douglas Co. outside of Lawrence we find: Harry F. Fulton, 1887-1948, bur Maple Grove Cem., Lecompton Daniel Fulton purchased a cemetery lot in Baldwin Pioneer Cemetery on Oct. 3, 1864. However, there is no record that any of the Fulton family are buried there. The records of burials in that cemetery are not very good back that far if there was no tombstone. If you have any detail knowledge about any burials in Baldwin, I'd love to hear from you.
