    1. RE: [KSDOUGLA-L] Levi 'Lee' Young 1870 census
    2. Christopher B Durall
    3. I could not find a Lee or Levi Young anywhere in Kansas in my census index. I did find an Eli Young living in Lawrence, 2nd Ward, pg 316. I looked him up on the census. It appears he's boarding, no other Youngs listed. Age 58, carpenter, born in New York. There are other Youngs listed in Douglas county. If this isn't the one you are looking for, do you have an age for Levi? Hope this helps. 1. [KSDOUGLA-L] 1859 DOUGLAS Co census
    2. Searcher
    3. Where could I find the 1859 Douglas County census? Recently I found the name of what I believe was my ancestor, listed on p. 31 in the Lawrence Twp., Douglas Co. census. I found this on Ancestry, but the actual scanned pages are not found on Ancestry. I knew that he had at least one son that went to Kansas. I have not checked, either, the 1860 federal census index for Kansas, and wonder if anyone would have access to a copy of that so I would have at least the page number to check. --Richard

    3. Yes, I would very much like to see this! This is one of the areas I'm researching as I try to learn more about the Hesper community (ca 2 miles south of Eudora) and the surrounding areas. I'd also be interested in knowing who your contact is. The Eudora Area Historical Society is interested in interviewing people from the area who have memories or family stories about the history. You can reach me at the e-mail address below.
