    3. Hello Chad: Have not found Maggie; however, her siblings and family members including Sadie are buried in Navarre Cemetery. Have found an obit for brother James Oliver Rock of 23 Feb 1929. Maggie and Sadie are both listed in the obit as living in Hope, KS. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ksdickin/navarrecem/vzegergeorgesadie.jpg Hope this will help a little. Roberta

Author: kprsn1 Surnames: Rock Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kansas.counties.dickinson/495/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for help locating the death and burial place of my grand uncle, Earl Edward Rock. He was born in 1902 in Pennsylvania and came to Dickinson County with my great grandfather, Samuel, around 1913. He married Gladys Bunker about 1928 and they had a son, Cecil. Gladys died in 1987 and her obit states she is buried in Abilene Cemetery. Cecil died in 2010 and is buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Gladys' obit says Earl died in 1965 while an Ancestry tree I've found says 7 Nov 1978. I have been unable to confirm either or none. I presume Earl is buried in Abilene Cemetery with his wife. Can anyone help? Thank you. Chad Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The reporting name for this railroad is "RI"--sort of like airports now have reporting names--"LAX". This railroad was familiarly called the "Rock Island", and the song "Rock Island Line" (written by blue/folk singer Leadbelly and famously recorded by Johnny Cash) referred to this railroad. Among them is one that has written on it: R. I. Ticket Office, Herington, Kansas. My husband's grandfather Edwin Dale Jones owned it and it says that he is one of the men in the photo, listed as ticket agent. I assume that the R. I. Ticket Office had something to do in regards to railroad, as our grandfather Jones was in the railroad industry his entire life ending up as the head dispatcher in Denison, Texas for the KATY.
