I searched through my resources for some more clues for you. John Aaron Cox is buried at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. The dates on his tombstone are Mar. 20, 1871-Mar. 23, 1930. There do not appear to be any family members buried near him. Mary E. Cox, age 27, married Bazzell D. Perry, age 27, on 30 Sep 1894 (Book J, pg. 223). Dortha L. Cox, age 23, of Pittsburg, married Sephus U. Spicer, age 34, of Pittsburg, on 22 Jun 1901, J. H. Gibson, Pastor, Pittsburg (Book O, pg. 521). They are buried at Hobson Cemetery in Pittsburg where their tombstones are inscribed: Spicer U. Sephus 1867-1946 Dorothy L. 1877-1955. You may be able to find obituaries on microfilm of the Pittsburg newspapers through interlibrary loan from the Kansas State Historical Library and viewing them at your local public library. I believe you can get the film numbers from the KSHL's website as well as instructions for having your library order the film. Their website is http://www.kshs.org/library. Hope some of this will help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
