His obituary appeared February 3, 1977, page 5: Lloyd N. Winterrowd, 72, of rural Girard, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, where he was taken late Thursday afternoon. He was born Oct. 4, 1904, in Missouri and moved to the Buffalo, Kan. area where he grew up. He married Ruth Carstedt on May 9, 1934, at Cherryvale. After his marriage, he farmed in the Chanute area, moving to McCune in 1940. He moved to the present farm near Girard in 1950. Mr. Winterrowd was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include the widow of the home; two brothers, Ralph Winterrowd of Buffalo, Kan., and Stanley Winterrowd of Denver, Colorado, and two sisters, Grace and Imelda Adelgren, both of Chanute. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the W.D. Smith Chapel in Girard with the Rev. Ed Brown officiating. Burial was in the Girard Cemetery.
