I suppose you have already contacted the descendants of the Gilmores and Carmacks (Mrs. John Carmack was Opal M. Gilmore) who were living in Baxter Springs, Kansas in the 1920's and were probably Maxine's family. That would be my only suggestion until the 1940 census is released. Good luck with your search.
