    3. Barbara and list memebers - Thanks for sending the information. Carl and Isabelle Runyan McCulley are my grandparents and it surprises me that they are listed in the obits in Crawford County as Isabelle was living in Bourbon County (died in Linn County in a car accident) at the time of her death in 1966. Carl was in a nursing home in Neosho County, Ks in 1990 when he died and had never lived in Crawford County. The McCulleys were all in Linn and Bourbon Counties. I don't know who the other Guys and Runyans are that you have listed, but I will sure find out. Possibly siblings who came along with my g-grandparents. (?) Midway is was a mining town, they were miners. :) I thought that was so cute! Melissa Ellen Guy Runyan was born in 1861 in Indiana. I believe that she went by Ellen. She died in the early 1930's in a horse and buggy accident. Francis Marion Richard Runyan is probably about the same age as her. I don't know when he died or where he was born. As far as I know, they never left Crawford County after they got there. My best guess is that he died in the 1920's or 1930's unless he was in some type of accident earlier - but the family has never mentioned an accident. Someone told me that he went by the name Richard. The Runyan name could also be spelled Runyon or Runnion. It evolved from the name Rongnion who were French Heugenots. They had a large family. The other siblings were: Ethel, Omar, Ivan, Martha, John, James, and Ed Runyan. There are more and then there were some that died young that I don't have yet. My grandmother (Isabelle) must have been one of the last children born as she was born in 1899. Her chore was dishes and she talked alot about all of those dishes she had to do (and even always smiled about it!), so I know the siblings weren't all grown up by the time she got to be of dishwashing age. Throughout her life she kept an immaculate home and was a wonderful cook. Her mother had taught her very well. This is all the information that I can think of. I think that Midway was a mining town somewhere close to Frontenac. (right, Carol?) Thanks again for all of your help, Connie King barbara wrote: > > Connie, > I have done the same thing with my Buchanan line, I have two large notebooks on the wrong line! > It's best to laugh and just keep looking. > > I have looked in the Midway Directory 1901-1902. I looked through the ones that I thought might be the right time period but did not find Melissa Ellen or Francis M.R. Runyan. Do you have more precise dates for their births and deaths? and places? What was his line of work? > > I hope this helps some. > > Barbara
