Hello, I am looking for information if possible regarding my family. My great grandmother was Barbara Burg Wilkinson, born 1877 in Germany moved to America in 1879.With her family. Friedrich and Susan were her parents, Siblings we believe are Michael, Lena, Mary, Susie and Maggie. She was married to Harry Wilkinson. They had Nine children. They eventually resided in KS and MO. Two of her sisters , this is where we get confused, Mary Smith and Maggie? Also there is a Katherine Smith, Which could have been Wilkinson or Burgs, Katherine was probably a sister in law to one of my ladies. Anyway, if I haven;t lost you so far, they ran what my grandmother refers to as a "joint" ,in Chicopeee, KS. WE are hoping it was a tavern, but they had gambling and beer. If anyone has any information like a name for the place or info on the sisters it would be greatly appreciated... I am estimating this place was there around 1920's Thanks lori
