Hello everyone: My grandfather was the book-keeper of the mine and was working in the office that day when the mine blew.... My Aunt Ruth Rabbitt told me that her father (my grandfather Patrick H. Rabbitt) told her that when the mine blew the blast threw a tin cup he was holding into the wall. When he found it it was badly dented and bent. He was not injured that day and his brothers were miners there but that day they did not work the mine. Just thought I would add this tidbit of history..
