I am looking for information about what could have happened to my great-grandparents, Solomon & Rachel Williams. They were living in Crawford Co. in 1876 in Lincoln Township. Evidently something happened to both of them, as the younger children were farmed out to different relatives. I was wondering if they could have both been an accident together. This seems out of the question, as they would have had at least one of the children with the. So then I wondered if a plague or something of the sort was going around at that time. Family stories relate that Solomon died, but I haven't heard anything about Rachel. Is there anyone who could tell me if a plague or something was going around in that area from 1876 - 80?
