William was born c.1859 in Ireland and came to the US in 1882 from Scotland (via. Philadelphia, PA) with his mother and some of his siblings. In 1895, I found him living in Chicopee, Crawford Co., in the Kansas Census, living with his brother James and his family (wife Agnes, children Harry, James, and Kate). William RUSSEL is listed as being a miner. I am unable to find William in the 1900 US Census, although the name is common enough that if he left the area he could be one of a number of possibilities. He is no longer with his brother (whose family is living in Baker, Crawford Co.). Also, I am interested in any additional information on James' family. He married his wife Agnes Ferns in Cherokee County in 1885. Between that time and the 1900 Census, she had 6 children, 2 of whom died. Another, James (Jr.), died in 1901 at approximately 9 years of age. By 1902 the family had left Crawford County for Arkansas (their daughter Agnes was born in Sebastian County, AR in Feb. of 1902).
