Steve, I believe Midway, Kansas is or was located about three miles straight north of Columbus, KS on Highway 7. My first wife's grandparents lived at Stipville, Kansas, and referred to that general area as Midway. I believe Midway was an old coal tipple, and may have been slightly west of the highway (#7). If you'll ask old timers (historians) in or around Columbus, I'll bet they could pinpoint the old coal tippple. When I mention old timers I guess that's me, I'm 67. I do have some knowledge about Crawford County, KS history, since I was born in Beulah, KS in 1933 and lived on farms in that area. Bill DeGarmo
