I have been trying to research my Grandmother's family that was living in Crawford Co.,KS. Her Mother was Mamie Edith Smith b- Nov 1,1897 and died Oct 11,1948 in Mulberry, Crawford, KS. She married (1) John Mays on Nov 1,1913 in Mulberry, son of Eades Mays. He was born Mar 2,1890, and died Sep 1, 1946 in Mulberry. (2) she married Ed Ford in 1918, son of Francis Ford and Amanda (Evans) Ford, he was born Dec 8, 1890, and died Aug 1959 in Wichita, KS. (3) Ed Lancaster in 1945. Mamie and John had one child: Ethel I. b-July 14, 1914 in Mulberry, Crawford, KS Mamie and Ed Ford had four children: Helen Alene b- Dec 13,1919; d- Oct 1983 Wichita, KS Vernon Lee b- NOv 13,1921; d-July 15,1983 Portland, OR Ernest Lee b-Jan 4, 1922-25; d-Dec 31, 1922-1925 (he was 11 mos)of pneumonia Paul Edwin b-Apr 15,1926, KS; d- May 24,1972, Longview, WA Mamie's parents were William Wesley Smith son of Josiah Smith and Mary Jane (Wyatt) Smith b-dec 29,1871 in Whitehall, Illinois; and died May 15,1942 in Mulberry, Crawford, KS. He married Mae Isovean Hartman daughter of James Nicholas Hartman and ? (Hartman) Hartman.
