You might try the state records for City Marshalls or Sheriffs. The city hall at Walnut might also have records for the early Sheriffs. Next time I am at the library I will see what I can find. I also have a photo that was taken in Walnut Ks. of a man and four children that I cannot identify , photo was probably taken between 1880 and 1890 , the man has a Badge on his lapel which is round with a star in the center, I am wondering where there might be records, with names and dates of the past Sheriffs or Marshalls of Crawford Co. ?
