    1. [KSCRAWFO] Alfred Wright
    2. Charmaine, I went back to the book of transcriptions of the tombstones of Crawford County and looked for your Alfred Wright with the Wells and Roberts families. This time I found him. Apparently he is buried at the Girard Cemetery, Lot #59. He tombstone is inscribed: Alfred G. died Feb 8 1910 aged 42 y 11 m 13 d Wright There are quite a few Wrights buried at the Girard Cemetery who are probably related to Alfred; however, I didn't find a John or James born in the 1850's. There are also Gemmells who came to Crawford County as part of the Scottish Presbyterians from Randolph County, Illinois. The state of Kansas did not keep death records until 1 Jul 1911. The Crawford County Clerk would probably have some record of the death. The address would be: Crawford County Clerk, P.O. Box 249, Girard, Kansas 66743-0249. The phone number is (620)724-6115, and their website is http://www.crawfordcountykansas.org/countyclerk.htm. The website might give you more information and tell you whether there is a charge.
