Surnames: Wettstein, Bazin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zl.2ADE/510.3.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: The naturalization for Wettstein was in Madison Co., Illinois and his father in law's was apparently begun there but he died before it was finished- the clue I got to that was the naturalization papers of his wife, Henry's mo in law, in 1895, Cherokee County, Ks. The immigrant Henry died in 1950 in Colorado and is buried there. His wife Olufina possibly died in Cherokee Co but I have not found anything on her death, can only guess at her dod: after July 1899 but before the 1900 census when Henry is a widower. The "Fiena" who md. Edward Stumfoll is his daughter. Henry re-md.in 1904. ................................................. Also obituary for a John Wettstein born Feb. 8, 1894 in Coal Valley to Henry and Olphina Bazin Wettstein. Notice Fiena in marriage record must me varient spelling of Olphina or mispelling because the sister of John is listed as Olphina Stumfoll, also lists a brother Joseph as preceeded in death besides Henry and Richard. Another sister Rose Vider who survives him. This would be the next line down - that of John Henry Wettstein who md. Ida Mae Lane. He died in La Jolla, San Diego, Ca. ............................................................. Henry's obituary doesn't list parents but say he was born in Collinsville Ill in 1887. That would be Henry Ralph Wettstein, another child of Heinrich the immigrant and wife Olufina Bazin. ................................................................. Also an obituary for a Joseph Bazin born 1896 in Fleming. (Fleming is town nearest to the Ashley Camp). Doesn't list parents. You have me on that one - I do not have him on my database, but then my Bazin research has not had much to go on except a lot of guess work. I have not been able to do much with them... ........................................................................ Also list Lee Wettstein as being born at Camp 15 south of Chicopee in 1905.Also lists as sister Alafina Stumfoll. That one is Lee Emile born to immigrant Henry and his 2nd wife, Ella Marcelia Wilcox. ................................................. I am collecting all of the tidbits you have been sending to double check my database and see where I stand... it has been awhile since I last worked on them, thinking I had all I could do from here, via internet.
