Requesting anyone who has access to the Joplin Globe, either 7/30/1997 or 7/31/1997 issue to check an obit on Patricia Tierney (Bernal) who died July 29, 1997. She was a resident of Pittsburg, KS. I'm interested if Tierney was her maiden name and if it lists her father as Raymond W. Tierney from California. If this is she, then I would appreciate possibly a copy of the obit. or at least the details from it. If it helps, I was told that the Joplin MO Public Library has this paper on microfiche. Thank you Don Avery
Hi Everyone. Been off line for a couple of days but wanted to update everyone. They are going to fix the stones that can be fixed Wed. morning. I just talked to the gentleman in charge a little while ago. The monument place in Pittsburg is volunteering there time and equipment to do this. I will be there on Wed morning and will thank everyone for the wonderful thing they are doing. If anyone would like to send them a note. Email me and I will print it out for them. Needless to say the ones that tore the cemetery up have not been caught yet Carol

Hi, I went out there last night.Nearly all the stones are on the ground. Many of the older one that were the Slate type (up and down) are on the ground or broken in half. We have had several cemeteries in the last couple of years hit by these acts. We do have a great bunch of people around here that have fixed many of the broken ones .Now if someone could catch the people that are doing this. We need laws to make a person think long and hard before they destroy a grave Carol "Edward A.
