Hi, I'm searching for the dates of death, and/or place of burial, for James D. HANKINS and his wife, Sarah Elizabeth HANKINS. This couple moved from Missouri to Osage Township of Crawford County in 1874 or 1875, and apparently lived there the rest of their lives. James D. HANKINS was born in 1836, and Sarah E. Hankins was born in 1840. They were both listed in the 1875, 1880, 1885, 1895, 1900, 1905 and 1910 census of Osage Township in Crawford County. Based on the 1910, 1915 and 1920 census, it appears that James D. HANKINS probably died in Osage Township 1910-1915, and Sarah E. HANKINS probably died in Osage Township 1915-1920. The couple lived in Osage Township for about 40 years, and had children in the area, so I am hopeful that they have stones in one of the Osage Township cemeteries. Their children were: 1) Mary Margaret HANKINS married Silas CALVERT 2) Benjamin Franklin HANKINS married Mary E. HARTLEY 3) George HANKINS 4) Anna Elizabeth HANKINS married James Shepherd BELL 5) Angeline HANKINS married Albert WHITE 6) Caroline HANKINS married Albert L. TURNEY 7) Ella HANKINS Any assistance in locating the dates of death, or graves, of James D. or Sarah E. HANKINS would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Mike Landwehr Waukee, Iowa

I really appreciate your researching those things for me. I am fairly new to genealogy and had not found any information other than census records for the family and the dates approximated by family members and I did not know were they were buried. That you would take the time to look that information up means a lot to me thank you!!! I have a question for you, I was wondering do you know what records I would search to find out how Cora May, the daughter died, she was 16 and I am just curious..would the best thing be to order a death certificate and that would have cause of death. Just wondering. Thank you very much! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Cox, Justice of the Peace. (Crawford County Marriage Records, Book E, pg 255). A CD of the Crawford County Birth Records has the births of their children as: 1st Eddie M 01 Nov 1887 Book G Page 32.04 2nd Clarence Carson M 27 Aug 1889 C 143.09 3rd M 20 Oct 1891 C 184.01 4th F 1894 D 94.05 5th M 24 Sep 1896 D 134.1 6th F 18 Sep 1898 D 176.02 6th M 01 Aug 1901 D 228.1 The information for the birth record was usually submitted by the doctor or midwife in attendance and often didn't include the child's name. I think the birth of the first child was probably in book C rather than G, but the CD has G. Also, obviously, the last two children could not have both been the sixth child born to the mother. Jacob and Beulah, along with other family members, are buried at the Girard Cemetery where their tombstones are inscribed: Girard Cemetery Page 116 Cramer Mother Beulah E. 1865-1945 Father Jacob A. 1863-1953 Cora May Cramer 1898-1914 William A. Looking for a marriage record for my grandfather John F. Davis and a Millie Cottingham married June 1925. Would it state what town they actually were married in? Also they had a child a son born between 1925 and 1926 named Billy or William wondering if a birth certificate is available? I am also wondering if perhaps a death certificate or an obit is available for Billy as its been handed down in the family he died between ages 3 and 4. By this time my grandfather was already divorced from Millie and she was remarried. It seems my grandfather was born and raised in the Crawford Co. area(Pittsburg?) an left abt.1927. I am also trying to locate any information to my grandfathers stepfather Audie or Otto Faucett, would there be a death certificate or an obit available? It seems that he may have died between 1923 and 1925. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks Ann

Hello. I am looking to find information on any type of city or county directory - Pittsburg, Ks., or Crawford Co., Ks.,, for the time around 1945. Does anyone know of such a thing and if so where to find it? I don't know if these type of books were called Telephone Books back then. What I came across listed name, address, place of employment but I can't find it again. Specifially I'm looking for David Newton and Ethel Marie Odell living in Pittsburg, Ks., during the time frame of 1944-1948. Ms. Odell could be listed as Ethel or Marie, either one or both. Any ideas would be wonderful....thanks bunches. paulette in sw fla usa
