    1. [KSCRAWFO] Attorney Perry Owsley?
    2. I'm interested in finding out about Perry Owsley, an attorney in Pittsburg at some point. He apparently was the attorney for some member of the Cuthbertson family and had some photos and papers in a bank box that eventually were dispersed. A collector recently contacted me because of the surname, but didn't know any more than that the papers came via Mr. Owsley. I'm simply interested in finding out when Owsley was in practice in Pittsburg, and other information that might help me determine the family member to whom these papers and photos originally belonged. Thanks! Ken Cuthbertson **************New year...new news. Be the first to know what is making headlines. (http://www.aol.com/?ncid=emlcntaolcom00000026)

I searched through my resources for some more clues for you. John Aaron Cox is buried at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. The dates on his tombstone are Mar. 20, 1871-Mar. 23, 1930. There do not appear to be any family members buried near him. Mary E. Cox, age 27, married Bazzell D. Perry, age 27, on 30 Sep 1894 (Book J, pg. 223). Dortha L. Cox, age 23, of Pittsburg, married Sephus U. Spicer, age 34, of Pittsburg, on 22 Jun 1901, J. H. Gibson, Pastor, Pittsburg (Book O, pg. 521). They are buried at Hobson Cemetery in Pittsburg where their tombstones are inscribed: Spicer U. Sephus 1867-1946 Dorothy L. 1877-1955. You may be able to find obituaries on microfilm of the Pittsburg newspapers through interlibrary loan from the Kansas State Historical Library and viewing them at your local public library. I believe you can get the film numbers from the KSHL's website as well as instructions for having your library order the film. Their website is http://www.kshs.org/library. Hope some of this will help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: rdspencer120 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kansas.counties.crawford/1001/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Zedoc Johnson was born about 1861 in Greene County, Missouri ; he was the son of Zedoc and Lucy A. Johnson ; in the federal census of Barry County, Missouri, 1860 , the Johnson Family is listed and this is prior to the birth of Zedoc (Jr); the family apparently moved back to Greene County, Mo. after their homestead was runover by military movements of the Civil War . The Johnson Family stayed in the Greene County area and was listed on the federal census of 1870 , except for Zedoc (Sr) who had died around 1865 . The family then moved over to Barton Co., Mo, where they had bought a farm and the sons worked the place until they eventually married or moved on after the death of their Mother in 1902 . Zedoc (Jr) married Edwina "Winnie" Canalys Briggs on 3 MAY 1883 , they lived in or near Pittsburg, Ks until the death of Winnie on 17 APR 1917 . The next location of Zedoc/Zedock Johnson ( spelling used in the fedearal census of Crawford Co. in 1930) is in Crawford Co., Ks , b! ut I do not know what city ; Zedoc has six family members listed with him in the 1930 census and I do not know if they are his children or another wife , an older daughter, and a second family . My query is : does anyone out there know what city Zedoc may have resided in 1930 and where would I find his burial location ? Were the family members listed in the 1930 census a second family and how large was his first family (names, etc )? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I could give you a list of about 50 people, but I will restrict to those in the wagon train that I believe stayed in KS. Martha W. Hardin (1885-?) Rebecca E. Hardin (1887-?) Lucy C. Hardin (1890-?) John Taylor Hardin (1880-1952) George W. Hardin (1883-?) Leonard Hardin (1891-1952) Elverd Hardin (1896-1979) I think he married someone back in KY Gladstone Hardin (1901-1972) Elora Hays (1904-?) Albert Miller (1885-?) I also wondered if you could check the cemeteries for: Rebecca Tomes Miller (1868-?) and her son Albert Miller (1885-?)
