    1. [KSCRAWFO] Franklin or Fleming School
    2. Both records are located at the Crawford County courthouse although they are very fragile and they weren't letting people look at them any longer. I do believe thay may be on microfilm now.  Check with the Register of Deeds of Office in Crawford County.  They can answer your question.  Franklin has its own website also and you may want to check that out as there are lots of old school photos (students and buildings).  Phyllis http://www.franklinkansas.com

Here a few details (or corrections, if you like ...): Henry Wettstein (b. abt 1864) was born in Russikon, canton Zurich, on Feb. 19, 1863. Henry (b. abt. 1887) was born on Feb. 12, 1887. Social Security Index shows death date as Nov. 1986; Nov. 25, 1986 is the death date of his wife Mary. For Henry who according to the SSI was born Nov. 26, 1912, another source (Don Morey) states Nov. 11, 1913. The immigrant Henry's fahter Heinrich died Jan. 29, 1914. - The tombstone for Henry who died 1910 remains obscure. Nevertheless I hope having provided soom food for further investiation. 1. [KSCRAWFO] GILLET or GILLETT - SHIGLEY Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old family photograph which appears to identify the group as the family of Aunt Mary GILLET and Addie, Lyda, Charles, May, and Jay (who are twins). The name Grace MORSE appears on the back of the photograph as well, though I don't believe she is pictured, maybe she is the person to whom the photograph was given. The photograph was taken at the Gibson & Widman Studio in Jackson, Michigan, likely sometime in the 1890's. The photograph includes an older woman, likely in her 40's or 50's (Aunt Mary GILLET?) and six young people including three females and three males. One of the young men in the photograph does not look like a relative since both of the other men certainly look like brothers. I'm wondering if this could be the spouse of an older daughter? Based on limited research I was able to gather some information regarding the family: Addie Electa GILLETT b. 1 Jan 1873 in Parma, MI to parents John Mack GILLETT and Mary Wilarina WORCHESTER. Addie married Joel Martin SHIGLEY (b. 16 Jul 1871 in Greene Co. OH) on 24 Dec 1891 in Springport, MI. Addie died on 24 Feb 1949 in McCune, KS and is buried there at the Mound Valley Cemetery. Lydia or Liddie A. GILLETT b. 18 Mar 1875 in Springport Township, MI to parents John Mack GILLETT and Mary Wilarina WORCHESTER. Lydia died Mar 1944 in Parma, MI. Charles Smith GILLETT b. 17 May 1877 in Springport, MI to John Mack GILLETT & Mary Wilarina WORCHESTER. Charles died 9 Jun 1896. 1880 census of Springport, MI: John M. Both of his parents were from Ireland and their names were Thomas and Ellen/Helen. He came to the USA in 1885 and married Ellen McMahon in 1888 in Mineral Co, WV. They had several children: Thomas Francis (b. 1888 in Mineral Co WV or Garret Co MD - m. Lillian Schreiber in Kansas) Bernard J (b. 1890 in MD) William James Kathleen Joseph Robert Harry This family moved to Cherokee and Crawford Co, Kansas and then to Troy, IL. I am desperate to find a living relative of this family. I have all the information you can get from ancestry on this family except for an immigration record for Patrick but I am also unable to find a marriage license for Thomas and Lillie. Author: cabincreek138 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kansas.counties.crawford/1006.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have done a search of the more obvious Crawford County records. L. R DeLaBarre, born Jan 7 1815 died Apr 8 1882, and Elizabeth M. DeLaBarre, born Nov 18 1819 died Jan 31 1886, are buried at Pittsburg (Hobson) Cemetery. James W., son of L. R. & A. E. DeLaBarr, born Dec 1 1872, age 2 yrs. 1 mo. 9ds. is buried at Shirly (State Park) Cemetery. Considering the birthdates of the couple buried at Pittsburg, they surely were not the parents of the child born in 1872, so perhaps they were the child's grandparents. Perhaps the father and grandfather both used the initials L. R. Then I found the marriage of Elizabeth DeLaBarre, age 20, and George N. Long, age 20, both of Pittsburg, performed 22 Jun 1899 by W. B. Brayman, J. P., (Book N, page 76). The cemetery records I searched are through 1976; however, the marriage records I was able to search are only through 1902 and the birth records only through 1905. You will probably have to contact the Crawford County Clerk's office f! or marriage and birth records more recent. Hope these clues help you find additional information.
