I am seeking info. as to what happened to my Grandmother, Lucy (aka May Lucy) PICKETT LOOKINGBILL. She appeared in 1905 census City of Girard, with husband and children. In 1910 census, same location only husband found and listed as widower, children found also. What happened to Lucy during this time frame. Any info. will be appreciated. Thank You.

You might try the state records for City Marshalls or Sheriffs. The city hall at Walnut might also have records for the early Sheriffs. Next time I am at the library I will see what I can find. My g.grandmother, Fannie Melissa Goodson is said to have been born in Walnut, Ks. in 1874, to William and Sarah (Cox)Goodson . Sarah died in childbirth along with second child , William M. Goodson then mar. Arie Jane Cox , the sister of Sarah. I also have a photo that was taken in Walnut Ks. of a man and four children that I cannot identify , photo was probably taken between 1880 and 1890 , the man has a Badge on his lapel which is round with a star in the center, I am wondering where there might be records, with names and dates of the past Sheriffs or Marshalls of Crawford Co. ?
