Hi all! Just wanted to remind you all that this Saturday, January 29 marks the 150th anniversary of Kansas statehood! The Arkansas City Public Library will be hosting Virgil Dean of the Kansas History journal that day at 2pm. His presentation "The Wyandotte Constitution and the Birth of the 34th Star" will discuss the beginning of Kansas as a state, the people who framed our first constitution, and the events that influenced early Kansas. I know I do not need to tell all of you about the importance of history! I hope you'll join us this weekend at the library, or celebrate Kansas Day in some other way!
