Hello Everyone, RE: Wilmer Chester Osborn Jr family tree. I am just beginning to build my family's tree. I have been running into a lot of dead ends. I started at the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. I found out that my grandfather (according to the funeral records) is from Happy Prairie Ks. and was born on Oct 31, 1895. According to the Kansas State Historical Society, there is no such place. I went to the genealogy dept of my local library and found out from the 1920 Census that my grandfather was born in Cowley county, in Arkansas City, Ks and was 23 and married in 1920 , it also shows his father is from Ky and his mother is from Mo. I have also found from the census that we have been spelling our last name without the e at the end. On the funeral records it shows my grandfathers father as unknown, his mother is Fannie Whitaker. I have been unable to find out any info on my grandfathers parents using the census. I'm guessing I will need to write the Vital Records dept of Topeka to get a copy of grandfathers birth certificate. That is about all the info I have at this time..
