I started at the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. I found out that my grandfather (according to the funeral records) is from Happy Prairie Ks. and was born on Oct 31, 1895. According to the Kansas State Historical Society, there is no such place. > Good morning, Janice. There is a "Pretty" Prairie, Kansas, in Reno county. Don't know what would have been there in 1895, however. Reno county is not too far from Cowley county. Where is the cemetery located where you found the graves? You didn't supply that information. <smile> There also is a Happy township out in western Kansas, however in 1895, that would surely not have been in existence. There is no reference to a "Happy Prairie" in either of Daniel Fitzgerald's "Ghost Towns of Kansas" books, either. Good luck! Gary&Mary Lee Presson, Wichita
