Thomas drowned in 1898 as stated in The Buffalo Advocate-- do not have the actual obituary just want it was suppose to have said. The body of Thos. Damewood who was drowned in the Arkansas River near Wichita last fall was recovered about Jan. 1, 1899, ten miles west of Winfield. He had gone with a party of buffalo hunters from Neodesha last fall. He was a son of J. H. Damewood in Cowley Co. this was in the Buffalo Advocate 3-3-1899 - - 9-26-1902 Aug. 11, 1899 I have not been able to locate this Buffalo Advocate. We just know John was in Cowley county at the time of his son's death. We do not know what happened to him after that. Kath [email protected]
