Greetings All! I have recently subscribed to the list, and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Susan Anderson, and I am the County Coordinator for Keith County, Nebraska. My interest in Cowley County is that I believe this is where my g-g-g grandfather died. I don't know his first name, or anything else really. All I have to go on is an old Western Union Telegram dated Udall, May 1887, sent to my g-g grandfather. This telegram, signed Robert Rattiff, Mayor, says that "your father is very sick. Cannot live long unless changes." I am hoping that perhaps someone on the list may be able to help me with more information on my g-g-g grandfather (surname most likely TURNER) or if nothing else, confirm or deny that there was a Mayor Robert Rattiff in Udall in May of 1887.
