It is South and East of Wichita, which is in Sedgwick county. Wichita is the largest city in the state, with the exception of the "Kansas City" complex, in the far NE part of the state. The Winfield/Arkansas City area of Cowley, is pretty good-sized, and about 60 miles away from Wichita. Dexter twp, in Cowley county, is in the far SE part of the county. The only town of any size there, being Dexter. In the time frame you mentioned, there was also a little town nearby, by the name of Hooser (NOT HOOSIER) which had some population. Good luck with your SIMMONS. Gary & Mary Lee Presson Wichita.
