    3. Posted on: Cowley Co. Ks Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ks/Cowley/10043 Surname: Bushnell, Mears, Kemp, Friend, Boyd, Dicks ------------------------- My great-grandfather, CHESTER BUSHNELL, was married to Eva Jane MEDLEY in Wisconsin in 1886. They had 7 children and moved to Oklahoma by 1898. Eva died in Colorado in 1908. Now the mystery.......we know Chester married Elnora Mears in 1909 in Kay Co, OK and divorced her in 1910. Now we have discovered he married Maude Kemp in March 1911. Thru some papers we know that he and Maude divorced by 1919 because he married Julina Boyd Dicks 17 October 1919 when he was 59 yrs old. Maude later married NELSON FRIEND from Arkansas City. In December 1920 Maude (formerly Bushnell) Friend and Chester were in COWLEY CO hangling over property in Nevada. Does anyone know anything about Maude Kemp Bushnell Friend? Chester and Julina divorced 6 December, 1924, in Elko, NV, and he died the next day of a heart attack. I hope we don't find any more marriages for Chester.....I am still trying to figure all these out. Anyone out there with any information email me at [email protected]

They went to Cowley Co., KS, after the Civil War where there second child was born and the child was the first white child to be born in the county. After about 10 years or so , they did come back to White Co., IL. But Abraham's older brother, James Henderson Land, and his family stayed in Cowley Kansas.
