    1. [KSCOWLEY] Cowley County surname: LAWRENCE
    2. Jennifer
    3. Hello! I am researching the surname LAWRENCE. Harry LAWRENCE, b. ca. 1884 married Priscilla JONES, b. Jan 5, 1887. I have no idea when they were married. However, I have a picture that I believe is probably their wedding picture taken at Brash Studio in Winfield, KS. I have also located them in the 1920 census with sons Harry, b. ca. 1911 and George, b. ca. 1915. In this census, the family was living in Winfield City, Ward 4. The information in the census says that Harry (Sr.) was a plumber and employed by a hardware store. I don't know how long the LAWRENCE family lived in the Winfield area. I do know that Priscilla was born and raised in Arvonia, Osage County, KS and may have moved with her parents to Lebo, Coffey County, KS before her marriage. I don't have a marriage date or certificate for this couple. Since the picture I have was taken in Winfield, I am guessing that Priscilla moved to Winfield before her marriage. Is there a college that would have been there in the early 1900s that she might have attended? Any ideas on what might have brought her to that area? I was also wondering if there are city directories that go back to 1910 to 1920 that might list the Harry LAWRENCE family; perhaps Harry had his own business or something. I do know that this family traveled a lot as I have postcards sent by them to various family members. This would lead me to believe that they were fairly well to do. Priscilla was a sister to my great grandmother. If anyone can assist with this family, I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance Jennifer Ohmes in sunny, triple digit hot Dodge City, KS
